Miscellaneous
The following is a list of projects performed that do not fall into one of the standard environmental engineering categories, but is still concerned with the branch of engineering focused on the application of scientific and engineering principles for protection of human populations from the effects of adverse environmental factors.
pond volume calculation
The kaolin mining industry utilizes slurry ponds to allow clays to settle out of process water before it’s allowed to leave the subject properties and enter the receiving streams. As flocculation takes place, the slurry pond volumes are progressively reduced over time. Thus, the volume and lifetime of these ponds needs to be calculated.
emergency planning and community right-to-know act (epcra) reporting
Due to large amounts of hazardous chemicals located on the subject property, the site was required to comply with the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) regulations, which entailed generating a detailed listing of the hazardous chemicals located onsite.
Environmental site assessment (ESA) Report auditing
Banks need to ensure that the environmental site assessments (ESAs) performed on properties for which the banks plan to provide funding are accurate and complete.
