THE PROBLEM:
The facility was discharging high amounts of total suspended solids (TSS) into the storm water. These high amounts of TSS exceeded the allowable amounts stated in the NPDES Storm Water Permit for Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity.

THE SOLUTION:
The client needed to reduce these elevated concentrations of TSS from the storm water before it left the subject property.

THE RESULT:
We designed an onsite settling basin that would give the proper amount of retention time to the storm water to ensure the suspended solids had time to flocculate and settle to the bottom of the basin. This allowed the water to exit the subject property without elevated levels of total suspended solids.
